On March 31, the second phase of Hainan Changjiang Nuclear Power Project started construction. This is the first nuclear power project started in my country during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The project is located in Haiwei Town, Changjiang Li Autonomous County, Hainan. It is controlled by China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. and jointly constructed with China National Nuclear Corporation. The project plans to build two 1.2 million kilowatt nuclear power units with an estimated total investment of 36.85 billion yuan. It is planned to be fully operational by the end of 2026.
