This is the second blasting after the four boiler rooms of the plant were successfully blasted and demolished in September last year, laying a solid foundation for subsequent chimney blasting.

The 4×330MW unit of Jianbi Power Plant is an early domestically designed unit and has been put into operation since 1980. After transformation, the capacity of the unit was expanded from the original 300MW to 330MW. With a total installed capacity of 1,625MW, the plant became the largest thermal power plant in the country at that time. This honor was maintained for ten years and made great contributions to the revitalization of the national power industry, the national economic construction and social stability in East China. In order to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's "Two Mountains Theory" and implement Jiangsu Province's special actions for energy conservation and emission reduction, all four units were shut down in 2017, and the dismantling project officially started in 2018.
The main turbine factory demolished by blasting is a reinforced concrete frame composite structure, with a length of 353 meters from north to south, a width of 48.6 meters from east to west, a height of 60 meters, a construction area of 17,188.8 square meters, and a total of 108 load-bearing columns in the factory. The blasting was only 33 meters away from the operating Phase 7 factory building, and the surrounding environment was very complex. In order to ensure the safe and smooth implementation of the blasting project, the factory attached great importance to it, held multiple coordination meetings to arrange various blasting work, conducted emergency plan drills, upgraded the security level, and protected the safety of people's lives and property. On the day of blasting, the power plant strictly implemented the management and control requirements for high-risk operations, and personnel at all levels were on duty. Relevant persons in charge of Zhenjiang City’s public security, fire protection, ambulance, environmental protection, petition and other departments were in charge to ensure the safety and smoothness of the entire blasting process.
